Grower: Eighty Six Cannabis
Rating: 4.5
My heart is a time traveler switching back and forth between a romanticized version of a long ago life of cannabis and the present day of engineered marvel. Ghosts of NYC took me back to a place I missed so much. That fuzzy green nugget of goodness, filled with odors of lemon/lime gas and pine, of sprite and sex, is better than anything I had in my youth. But it represents every hope I had for the buds of that youth. Its flavor, diesel, earthy with subtle sweetness and a citrussy sultry aftertaste, takes me back to hot sweaty Chicago South Side evenings with good friends, animated conversations, and elusive dreams. Ghosts of NYC is beautiful, maybe not Hollywood beautiful, but she is queen of the neighborhood.
The high, contemplative and euphoric, thoughtful and appreciative, starts in the head but slowly moves with tingles through the body. Moments of relaxation are mixed with little bursts of energy, alertness and engagement, only to be brought down again into a content relaxed rest—strong but never overwhelming. I love this high, it matches what I look for when I go back in time.
I highly recommend Ghosts of NYC to experienced users. Take it—smoke it—have the time of your life. For novice users—for the sake of my imagined history, perhaps take a couple puffs to understand the aromas and flavors and then wait. It is strong—but so very good.
