Grower: Tropical Thunder/Tropical Pistachio
Rating: 4.6
It has been a while since Tropical Thunder came through these pages. I’m not sure what they have been doing in the pause since I last tried their flowers, but they have significantly upped their game and deserve to be mentioned amongst the top growers in Thailand. Tropical Thunder’s Total Eclipse is one of the most aesthetically pleasing buds I have come across—rich in trichomes, a dusty grey white covering a pale green base with bright orange pistils stretching out of the bud. The bud is oh so very sticky—a stickiness which leaves behind a pungent funk of pheromones rich enough to inspire the ghost of Marvin Gaye. Indeed, this bud is rich and funky with herby, piney, skunky odors and heavy accents of ripe red apples and spice. That fall harvest red apple aroma comes through strongly as the dominating flavor with secondary tastes of earth and spice.
Total Eclipse slightly numbs the brain, reducing stress, eliminating worries, and replacing them with feelings of euphoria while allowing functionality and engagement. At times the high dips into spaced out feelings with a slowed down thought process—but that thought process never comes to a halt. The user may be day dreamy, but never sleepy.
Total Eclipse is highly recommended for experienced users who will marvel at the aesthetics, aromas, flavors, and highs. This bud is truly a work of art. The bud is strong—but not so strong that it will scare novice users away. Still, I do not feel comfortable recommending this bud to novice users. To really appreciate Total Eclipse the user should come to this bud with enough experience to know what they have in front of them.
