Grower: Thai Kush
Rating: 4.5
Itโs been less than a week since I enjoyed Cherry Pie and from first sniff I expected that Thai Kushโs Cherry Cuntz would be similar. There are for sure similaritiesโbut Cherry Cuntz is ultimately a darker and more adult cultivar with the same characteristics presented in a very different manner. The closest similarity is the nose. Both cultivars have a strong tart cherry aromaโbut the Cuntz has more fumes rising from the bud which get right into the back of the throat. The flavor of the Cuntz is seemingly candyโwith very Runtz like tastes. But it is a dark sweetness, the type of candy that northern Europeans eat, a mint herbal sweetness bordering on bitter with floral evidence. If there is a bud which reflects the aromas and flavors of JรคgermeisterโCherry Cuntz may be that bud. Smooth smokeโbeautiful ash (if that matters)โconsistent taste from beginning to end. But with the flavor which makes old men smile and young children question whether they want a second candy.
Cherry Cuntz is a strong bud. The high starts off with a seemingly exclusive head high, excited, engaged, completely engrossed in the bizarre yet delightful flavor. The bud then becomes more and more euphoric, relaxing, and eventually sedentaryโleaving the consumer a relaxed pile of useless human.
Cherry Cuntz is the right bud for me. I would eagerly revisit it. It is an adult candyโthere is some bitterness about this bud which accompanies and parallels the sweetnessโits subtle and non-dominantโbut it adds a note which cannot be ignored. This bud is perfect for the experienced consumer looking for an adult version of a modern cultivar.
