Canis generously sent me some Mellowz right in time for New Year’s Eve. I ground this effervescent, spicy and fruity bud—pomelo, grape fruit and yogurt, overripe apricots with traces of menthol and bubblegum—anticipating chilling out on my balcony, smoking this aromatic bud while watching the fireworks with great excitement. Midnight came, and so did the hungry cries of my newborn daughter. I watched the fireworks while feeding her, leaving this ever so tempting joint for the next night. New Years Day was filled daddy duties, which in turn knocked me out on my balcony with my joint intact next to me. January 2, with the baby drunk on milk at 8PM, I handed all duties over to Mrs. Mendel, and blissfully combusted my coveted Mellowz joint. The flavors were worth the wait starting with a gassy concentrated dry fruit flavor or apricot, but quickly picking up herbal notes of menthol before descending into a rich cardamom, anise and sugar finish. Quite spectacular.
The high is mellow . . . no surprise there. Let me try again. The high feels like its supposed to be full on incapacitation, but instead a knob is turned down (or up?) and the brain and body are left cognizant enough to be aware, process and enjoy the world—while the body is relaxed, stress free, chill, but also still capable of movement (and feeding babies). There is a nice head pressure with this bud, which is like a massage bonus while taking a load off and enjoying this bud.
I highly recommend Mellowz to all consumers. The bud is just refreshing, flavorful, aromatic and the high is perfectly chill without a knockout. In a previous review I called it a luxurious bud, and I still feel the same way. It is a bud to be treasured and not to take for granted.
