I was waiting for Wiz Khalifa’s arrival down at the Dispensary in old Town Phuket but had to leave early to attend a wedding. I sadly missed Mr. Khalifa—but still left with a very pretty deep green based, frosted and orange haired bud from my guys at Harweed Moon. A significant consolation prize. The bud’s puts its best foot forward with a steller “Thai aroma” which is super citrussy with sour tropical notes of mango. The flavor matches the aroma, though it is more sweet than sour, with a super fruity and tropical taste with an added haze to it. Aromas and flavors I associate more with being upcountry than with Bangkok—but that’s all good.
The high was a surprise. I expected to be energized and thrown into a fit of creativity, instead the bud started off strong with a deep and relaxing. It definitely did not sedate me—but it also was far from motivating. Once the initial strength wore off I did mobilize and drove around the island (I was not the one driving the car) and thoroughly enjoyed myself watching the beautiful world of Phuket glide by. The effects were long lasting—pleasant—relaxing—leaving me with a permanent smile on my face. This is not a bud I would pick to work on—but it is definitely a bud I would pick to enjoy low stress, low action activities.
I highly recommend Bangkok OG to (experienced) holiday makers—either local or foreign—looking to slow down their activities, but not stop them. The flavors and aromas are excellent and the experience is super chill but far from comatose. Novice consumers, this bud comes with a very strong initial wave which may be overwhelming and scary—limit yourselves to one puff (at most).
