OCG is certainly a grower who delights in experimenting with the extraordinary. At least this is the conclusion I have drawn after trying two of his buds. French Perfume is far from the ordinary, far from classic, far from normal. The bud, on the outside but even more on the inside, is a deep pink stopping short of reaching purple. It is large, springy, mildly sticky and sparkly, rich with pockets of rust orange hairs. The bud is incredibly fragrant with the smell of a sour citrus candy, a forest after a spring shower, and dry sweet flowers. Floral sweet flavors are coupled with a milky smooth thick smoke. The floral sweetness develops into a minty herbal and spiced taste which then develops a bit of earthy bitterness. This bud is for sure a lady and the name “French Perfume” fits well—though the odor and flavor also bring to mind a floral, herb and spiced cocktail.
French Perfume’s high is engaged and relaxed. The head is focused, cut off from distractions. But that focus can easily become a dream—and when mobile the user may enter a dream in a controlled but trippy experience. The bud heightens the senses—adding to pleasure and numbing out the inconveniences and annoyances of life.
I highly recommend French Perfume to experienced users. This is a novel bud, one that will titillates the senses. The high is not overwhelming, though it is strong. I would normally recommend the experience to novice users. However, the bud is so unorthodox that I recommend that novice users first educate themselves with the classics before graduating to this beautiful lady.
