It’s hard to rate edibles. I have had few that I have enjoyed—the few I have enjoyed are listed in these pages—and in general I find them too strong. Cannabis is subjective, each user has their own reaction and their own relationship, that is part of the beauty and magic of the plant. Edibles for me last much longer than they last for other users—and I am sensitive to high dosages. Munchy King sent me a generous care package of products and encouraged me to dive into the box. I hesitated and raised my concerns about dosing and strength. He urged me to try one square of his white chocolate “Fudge It”—each square contains 15mg of THC. I followed his advice and enjoyed the experience.
I hate white chocolate—but the addition of cannabis and salt makes it so much more palatable. The herby minty taste of the weed and the salty aftertaste makes Fudge It tasty—the bud really improves the taste of white chocolate. I noticed the first effects of the edible about 90 minutes after consuming the square—I was having a hard time following Mrs. Mendel’s requests for dinner and was quite generous with my own choices of random unrelated dishes and appetizers. By the time food was delivered 40 minutes later, I was floating about the apartment, giggling, preparing breakfasts for the next day, and just enjoying a happy high. About an hour later I took the garbage out in what was one of the most out of body, surreal and almost psychedelic experiences during a mundane chore. I remember thinking to myself, “I hope this does not get stronger.” Thankfully it didn’t. The fudge peaked right at the pinnacle of my tolerance. I was stoned, no doubt, but I was still in the same dimension as the rest of Bangkok and had no worries, fears but instead was completely relaxed and ready to give in to slumber (after first consuming all non-infused food in my apartment). The next morning, I woke up relaxed, happy, at peace with the world and perhaps still a bit under the influence of that magical fudge.
Novices, beware, edibles are a completely different animal than combusting or vaping cannabis. Do not take an edible without understanding what you are taking, the dosing, and steps to take if your high is out of control. Experienced users, go for it, try it out, the high is fun and worthwhile.
