Grower: Boxer

Rating: 4.4

This is the first bud I am reviewing from Boxer. GMO Runtz definitely made a very good first impression on me—both the cultivar and the growing. The bud is a natural looking beauty, very nicely manicured, dark green dominant with a nice frosting. The aroma is loud with dark berries and schnapps—definitely with a more natural fruit sweetness than candy sweetness. The dry pull reveals more complex and layered “mouth smells” of blueberry, pine, earthy and spice. The flavor warmly combines the mouth smells in a super delicious flavor which tastes something like a blueberry cookie. Indeed, the flavor is more neo-classical than modern with notes of sweet earth, spice, the consistent presence of pine and the previously mentioned blueberry.

The high is very solid and enjoyable, mostly in the body with a relaxed muscles and a tingling throughout. Senses are heightened and easily stimulated and delighted. The bud is somewhat strong, probably on the stronger side for novice consumers, but not sedate. In fact, while the bud did relax me, I was awake and engaged for hours into the night.

I highly recommend GMO Runtz to all consumers. I really appreciate that the modern candy sweetness on this Runtz progeny is cut by more mature flavors—it made this bud super interesting and delicious to consume. The high is strong enough to enjoy throughout an evening. Relaxing enough to take a full load off—but never incapacitating. I would recommend that novice consumers start with a couple puffs and see where it takes them. Experienced consumers, roll a few Js and enjoy.
