Magic Melon is a pretty cool strain and bud. It is not an OG bud, but it does have some OG elements to it. Indeed, its strengths are where it ventures into OG territory.
The bud itself is reminiscent of high-quality Thai bud: dark green, long bushy and very sativa looking. The bud is very sticky, and its dominant mango scent will stay on your fingers for a minute when you handle it. Indeed, the bud has deep sweet, fruity and mango fragrance. The taste when vaped is earthy and bitter with only hints of mango and fruitiness. Counter intuitively, the mango and sweet taste is more evident when Magic Melon is smoked, and it is a very nice smoke. Indeed, the smoking experience is superior to the vaping experience with Magic Melon.
Magic Melon’s high is strong at the outset, with a deep sativa characteristics. Users will be energized, more distracted than focused, thoughtful and social. The high is not long lasting and moves quickly from the head into the body where it is very gentle. There is no stoned feeling with Magic Melon, and if anything it is on the weaker side of strains—perfect for smoking endlessly throughout the day without worrying about any adverse effects.
Magic Melon may be more appropriate for novice users than experienced users. It is fairly gentle, after an initial intense effect, and is very controllable. It has a great OG earthy, fruity taste when smoked, a good variation from the intense sweet and candy tastes so prevalent and en vogue. Experienced users may be a bit frustrated with Magic Melon, it is gentle and does not have the full character that its smoked taste may lead users to expect. But it has no adverse effects and can be used throughout the day without worrying about getting too stoned—a choice for users who relish the ability of smoking and continue their day.
