I first was introduced to Mystic at HighSociety where I shared a joint with the jovial proprietor of that fine establishment. I actually first turned my nose down on the bud as I picked up dominating iodine and earthy aromas which did not appeal to me. But the flavor was amazing—as was the high—and I openly and audibly regretted not having my trusty notebook with me to take notes. Lucky for me, the folks at Lucky Lobster Farmz got a bud over to me in a flash (translate to cannabis time—2 weeks). This bud is awesome—and in retrospect after breaking up and consuming the bud at home absent the haze of other buds combusting about—the aroma is fantastic. Yes, there is a strong skunky, hoppy and herbal earthiness to this bud. But this old school skunky bud is also complemented by pungent and gassy and sweet fruit. A combination of flavors which is superior to any of its individual components. The flavor is delicious, matching the aroma with sweet fruity and skunky tastes which taper a bit with an herby, minty and hoppy finish.
This bud has the characteristics of a classic and indeed a high to match. Relaxed, happy, creative and attentive to details with distractions falling away, the bud is perfect for an evening of engaging discussion or engaging media. Everyone has their own preference—but this is what I associate a normal and functional high to be. Not so functional that I would pull out my laptop and start working (there are many buds out there which do cause this motivation)—but socially functional, allowing for pleasure through interaction.
I highly recommend this bud—and it speaks directly to me. It is deserving of its high mark, but it is a mark which is nonetheless completely subjective. Nonetheless, this bud should be experienced by both novice and experienced consumers. Mystic will be an excellent tutor for apt pupils of cannabis—while those with advanced knowledge will appreciate, enjoy and savor its old school lineage.
