Cultivar names can drive me crazy, and “Red Bullz” is one which I think does a disservice to this particular bud and its excellent grower. White Labs grows really beautiful buds which look both natural and sexy at the same time. Their Red Bullz are so sparkly, reflecting light even in the darkest of rooms, quite a sight to behold. The aroma is rich and musky, with a deep dark berry and grape candy smell, a bit of vanilla and a touch of butter. Much more aromatic and enticing than a Red Bull drink. The flavor is dank and super skunky with an appropriate level of grape candy complement the taste, and spice and pepper which builds (and gets a bit scratchy) as the joint burns down.
The high starts alert, engaged with a focus and then builds with some euphoria—but that engaged and energetic high is fleeting and develops into more of a chill laid back, hungry, and relaxed late evening TV watching high. The high is neither full on stoned nor utilitarian, but a fine way to chill and take a load off before ending the day. A state I would rather be in than hyped up on Red Bull—but far from Red Bull.
I recommend Red Bullz to consumers looking for combinations of skunk and berries. This bud really hits those notes well and makes for a great consumption experience. The high is good and chill—sort of a Goldilocks high of neither too “stoned” nor too “alert”. A good high quality bud which could act as a great introduction for novice consumers.
