Sour Diesel is a classic strain which has been around longer than your dedicated correspondent has been smoking weed. I appreciate any dispensary which has a good base of OG strains available for those of us who yearn and crave the strains we came up with. The guys at Weed Express recommended that I try their Sour Diesel and it is indeed and excellent example of the strain and I commend them for their sourcing.
The buds of this strain are a bright grass green, dense and with a slight stickiness. The odors are of a pungent grapefruit mixed with children’s (Flintstones) vitamins. Once the bud is ground an additional Tang (the orange powder drink of astronauts) smell attacks the nostrils. This is one strong smelling bud.
The flavors of Sour Diesel will not disappoint. Vaping at the low temperature of 175 C a strong kerosene/diesel taste (hence the name) with a citrus menthol aftertaste dominates. As the temperature rises to 185 C and then 195 C, the kerosene taste fades and the citrus flavor becomes more pronounced. The vape is smoothest (and tastiest) at lower temperatures, where the flavor is intense, unique and really mouth watering. If you enjoy the concentrated flavor of an aged high quality beef, you will enjoy the taste of this Sour Diesel strain. It does not taste like beef, but it has the same intensity.
Sour Diesel is a classic sativa which hits the head with strong effects from the get go. The user’s head will have a strong elastic feeling to it and the body a deep relaxing but in control state which feels like the user is piloting a magic carpet. Users will feel uplifted, euphoric, social, energetic and silly. At the same time, this is a very creative and productive strain: I conducted a series of zoom meetings back home in a far away time zone without a hitch, and accomplished quite a bit.
This version of Sour Diesel is a keeper and I take my hands off to the growers who cultivated these buds. We recommend Sour Diesel to anyone who wants to try a bud with a unique pungent taste; strong but controllable, creative and productive effects. Thank you to Weed Express for this recommendation.
