Medicana’s Star Dawg is a pleasantly mild fruity diesel bud. The initial aroma out of its packaging is a light sweet-sour plum and citrus fruitiness. The aromas become more defined and evident in the dry pull which reveals notes of pepper, pine, and kerosene and diesel. The flavor is heavy in pepper and earth with an initial petrol hit which reveals more of an herbal taste as the J burns down.
Star Dawg has an immediate heady effect which thrusts the brain into a deep thinking and pondering mode. I found myself wondering and questioning all sorts of things which normally exist on the periphery of my consciousness—far from front and center. This is a good bud for internal exploration—and it has a somewhat mushroom like self awareness to it which can be therapeutic. I also found that my senses were heightened—and food and music greatly welcome. I could see novice consumers falling into slight fits of anxiety, but this should not affect the more comfortable of consumers.
I recommend Star Dawg to experienced consumers—especially those who are looking for a bud which is a slight trip with the consumer wide awake. I would caution novice consumers to probably stay away as they may not be ready for trip through their most neglected thoughts.
