Expectations are set high with Medicana Lab. Their quality of bud is in the highest tier of Thai flowers, delivering time after time. On this Saturday afternoon and evening I was given the rare treat of 6 hours alone as my wife and baby disappeared into the world of baby socialization. My plan was to get my hands on a balanced Medicana bud, get a massage, eat a mess of food and watch TV. I grabbed my Strawberry Cookies, mistaking it for a balanced bud (it is not), and lit up.
The first element which hit my nose is a sour spice followed by earthy berries, and then the tell-tale aroma of strawberries. I keep wondering whether I would have actually smelled the very specific odor of strawberries had the strain not be name “Strawberry Cookies”—but it was there nonetheless. The flavor of this bud was delicious, starting with an earthy fruity berry taste and developing more and more into a concentrated strawberry syrup. This is not the first time that Strawberry Cookies is being reviewed in these pages—but these flavors were some of the smoothest and fruitiest, with a sweetness reflecting fruit rather than candy.
The high is where Medicana’s Strawberry Cookies stands out. Clean and pure, happy and uplifting, floating and carefree, blissfully lazy and unmotivated but still with pangs of creativity and the random mini-burst of energy. Strawberry Cookies is not balanced, instead it leans into the indica side of things, slowing down time, relaxing the body and mind. I never made it to my massage which was too far away—instead I floated and swam in my pool for an hour—I was happy with that choice. My neighbors offered to take me to a chef’s table dinner—but I opted for Smizzle’s Oklahoma burger and was content with my decision. I then spent two hours watching Netflix before my beautiful family returned to me.
Strawberry Cookie is appropriate for both novice and experienced users. Novice users should smoke the bud sparingly—but will enjoy a very gentle and relaxing indica leaning hybrid and incredible tastes and aromas. Experienced users will follow their instincts to a land of stress free ease and happiness.
