Underground Grower is one of my favorites. He is one of the most interesting growers out there—a true artist—a man who lives his craft. He has developed his own fantastic strains which stick out with their own identifiable characteristics. Indeed, when judging the Phuket Cannabis Cup, SSY7 was one of a handful of buds which I was able to identify from look and use. SSY7 ended up being the runner up in the sativa category of that Cup. On a day when I needed something tried and true—a guaranteed win—I turned to SSY7. SSY7 has been a dependable go to for me, and while it has been discussed in these pages it has never been reviewed.
SSY7 smells and tastes delicious. When opening a jar of the buds a super fruity, almost banana, smell pops out and becomes more citrussy and melon like when ground with strong sweet and sour accents and a bit of diesel. The taste is the best of both neoclassic and old school worlds. The flavor has honey sweet elements of citrus and melon with sexy pungent gassy and spicy finishes which make this bud so very unique. Its high showcases some of the best characteristics of a sativa: engaging, thoughtful, stress free, open, grateful, social, happy, and ready to tackle and give the world a productive hug.
If you have any interest in Thai cannabis you have to try SSY7 (and Sticky Jasmine). This should be considered mandatory smoking for anyone going through the Thai cannabis experience. The bud is appropriate for both novice and experienced users. The flavors and aromas are bright and beautiful—the high is excellent and clean, never overwhelming but layered, enjoyable, and bright.
