Grower: Golden Temple

Rating: 4.5

For the last few months folks who I respect have been telling me I need to check out Golden Temple. They themselves got in touch with me and suggested that I check out their buds—but their buds remained elusive for a couple weeks until hooked up with them at the Highland 420 fest in early June and they gave me a bud to smoke then and there. I don’t remember the name of the bud I smoked—but it put me in another dimension making my journey home on the last BTS train of the night a bit more surreal than my normal cannabis influenced public transportation journeys. But I digress—before heading home the gents of Golden Temple handed me a couple samples including Yā Bin, the bud I smoked last night.

Yā Bin is crazy.  She looks like a good natural bud, super deep green with wild orange hairs about. But the aroma gives the consumer a heads up that there is more going on here—citrus fumes get the back of the throat and nostrils at the outset—followed by a more mellow sweet candied guava with a dry pull revealing vanilla candy. The aromas is pretty special—but the flavor is even more nuanced and all over the place—ranging from candied fruit and vanilla at the outset, developing into a teenaged girls soap or lip balm, and finishing with an herbal pepperiness. While the flavors and aromas may sound familiar—the way they come through is actually incredibly unique and novel. I have not come across an sweet and candy like bud like this ever—and it should not be confused with anything in the Runtz Skittlez line.

The bud’s high is strong and the consumer will feel a slowdown in the mind and a relaxation of the muscles and pain relief. I expected that I would be knocked out—but instead I spent a good two hours thinking about what I had just smoked—watching documentaries and eating chocolate. My body was fully relaxed—but my slowed down brain was still active and processing.

I highly recommend Yā Bin to all experienced consumers. No matter what your terp preference is—you will appreciate how very different and enjoyable this bud is. Novice consumers—I would recommend you spend time appreciating the aroma—breaking down the bud—and looking at it. A small half puff is all I can recommend a novice consumer take on this bud—but it will be worth it.
